Hello everyone!! =)
I know i’ve been more than bad…sorry..=(
I meant to post right after the party but my computer is in a bad mood, it keeps saying error on page, and i knew it’s not the internet and Chictopia because your chic lives are moving on while i keep restarting! =‘(
My sisters’ laptops are in school and i had to bribe the other sister to take hers home, and look, it’s working!
Anyway, i did promise you i’d give you something orange the next time i post, i’ll have to do that after this one.=) This is what i wore to the Rotaract Halloween party (Yes, we’re home, left Dubai a couple of days ago and came home to the most lovely weather! I love Dubai dearly but i simply had to experience autumn and winter.Oh the boots and the coats and the sweaters! And i also had to see my dogs.) So yes, the president of Rotary called and invited us to attend the party while we’re still unpacking, and we simply had to go, too good to miss. So i had half a day to think of 4 costumes (for my two sisters and our friend Esmira), husband is in the UK, and too bad, he could’ve gone as a chauffer!!=) Yeah?=) Just his usual suit and i can lend him a hat!=) Or maybe a banker, again, just a suit, a pretty tie and some money in his pocket to buy the drinks!=) Oh no, maybe as Godfather, again, just his usual suit and a cigar!=) You know, he can mimic Don Corleone so good it neverfails to give me tummy pain (too much laughing!) Or maybe James Bond, again, the usual suit and a glass of Vodka Martini-shaken not stirred!=) No, no, maybe as Mr. Bean! Again, just a suit with the too short trousers! =) Sorry, it’s just great to make fun of him, i dont always get the chance.=) So 4 outfits, and about an hour to get everybody ready. Good thing is, we didnt need to go to the shop, i knew my wardrobe can provide 4. One sister went as G.I. Jane (with my Zara military jacket), the other one as a vampire (she’s addicted to True Blood, Vampire diaries etc!) with my long tail tux jacket. Our friend Esmira went as a Geisha (wearing one of my vintage Kimonos) and as you can see, i went as a nun!=) Well, the YSL way.=) I have been working on this look for months, slowly buying the key pieces, and when i got them i thought, ok, where am i gonna wear this! People are used to my weird looks already but Halloween i think is the perfect event i can go to, with this holy look, without being the center of attention. And trust me, i wasnt. With the skulls and brooms and fangs and tails around? I was ordinary!=) It was fun, i did feel like Deloris (Whoopi Goldberg in Sister Act) and Maria (Julie Andrews in Sound of Music), both are favourites. I’ve always admired the nuns, they remind me of Mary (Mother of J.C.) and that’s also the reason why i love the arab women in their abayas. And i think if i didnt have the pieces for the nun costume, i would’ve gone as a very conservative Saudi Woman, face covered and everything.=)
Anyway, i hope you guys had a great Halloween as well, and hope you like the outfit. The maxi skirt is actually a pair of trousers, photos will be in Pandora’s Box soon. Necklace is a gift from the man, an advance Christmas gift (I dont know if he is aware that this ‘advance’ things dont really count!) =) Will talk about the outfit more in the blog.=)
Again, thank you so very much for the lovely comments, kind votes, facebook likes and adding me as one of your faves and the few of you who keep me company in Pandora’s Box (and Ambrosia), i will spend the whole week to catch up.=) Again, thank you……
