Trendspotting: Blue & Red Color Contrast
This fall, two distinct color schemes are making their mark on Chictopia’s fashion scene: monochromatic neutrals and brilliant color contrasts. One of the most eye-catching color plays seen in the Style Gallery this past week was a strong blue and red color contrast. Check out how these ladies rocked the look!
1. Brights & Tights
Want to make a statement? Try Iris’s (of irisanddaniel) bold color choice. Her 50’s chic, ruby-red belted trench coat gets a pop of opposite color via a cerulean Parisian beret. She keeps our focus on this color contrast with simple dark gray tights and military boots.
2. AA sheer tartan
If you prefer a slightly more subtle (yet equally fashionable) color contrast, look to Style Icon mayo_wo for inspiration. Her salmony red cloche hat and rusty pleated shorts artistically clash with a blue plaid shirt. She adds a final touch of sophistication with patent leather booties and dainty thigh-high stockings.
3. Crunchy leaves
Could Eucalyptus’s outfit get any more adorable? Her vintage blue play dress, wavy blonde tresses, and perky red knee-highs are a reincarnation of a modern-day Lolita. To keep the look modern, she adds a pair of practical, fall-ready brown leather boots.
