Hey boys and girls! A few weeks ago I did an interview with girlscene and I got published last night! Girlscene is like, THE biggest fashionsite in Belgium and The Netherlands and I already got lots of sweet comments and new followers! Usually each post there gets lots of negative feedback from girls saying stuff like “eh, nothing special” or “boring”, but I’ve had 155 people commenting and like 3 or 4 not so positive ones so I’m over the moon!!!
Outfit: my pretty zara dress, my lovely nude river island brogues, my perfect basic Pimkie trenchcoat and my fun H&M polkadot scarf. The weather is still very nice here, so I’m going to grab some of my course material and start preparing some papers! Enjoy your sunday!
PS: I forgot to tell you about my foundation of style! Mad Men has inspired me to no end, so I had to try the winged eyeliner look. Along with my perfect shade of pink lipstick that neither stands out too much nor looks too bland, I’m in love with my sixties inspired beauty look! I feel like my own charisma is more Betty Draper than Joan Holloway (I really don’t have those curves :(), so I kept the rest of the look girly rather than hot to compliment the whole gamine Twiggy feel of the sixties, but choosing items that would have this look appear contemperary rather than period-styled. A timeless trenchcoat and some leg-elongating nude brogues continue the classy vibe, while the almost childlike print on the dress puts an emphasis on the innocence of the silhouette. Classy and put together meets girly and young, that’s my style foundation! But like tectonic plates, my style foundation shifts depending on my current inspirations! I’m going to try out the hot off the fall catwalks look of dark lipstick one of these days. Maybe that will become my fall/winter style foundation! And talking about foundation: whether you try out a goth dark lip or a sixties sex puss winged eyeliner, the true foundation is just that: foundation. I’d be delighted to try out the Purple Lab NYC foundation because a girl never finishes her quest to find the perfect (style)base!
