Top 5 Trends for Fall 2010

The trends that are most coveted this season are sure to add glamour and romance to even the most humdrum days. So what items should be the highest on your priority list? This fall it’s anything that comes in the color camel, wild animal prints, dreamy lace, fur (faux of course), and maxi skirts and dresses!

The autumn skies might be turning gray but our clothes are turning camel! Camel is the color of the season! Lately, it seems like everywhere I go, someone is wearing the color. It has always been a classic neutral, but I believe that it is such a huge trend now, because of it it’s universal appeal. The color looks beautiful on every one and every skin tone. So why not try it out this year?!
From coats, to pants, sweaters, boots, belts, and bags there is a camel item out there for everyone!
Or, you could do it the Michael Kors way and invest in a gorgeous camel colored skirt ! Another reason to love this skirt is it’s length! You can kill two of fall’s biggest trends with one skirt. I love how Kors styled the skirt with all neutral tones. All of the muted shades paired together have such a timeless appeal. What’s not to love right?!

This fall, the streets and the catwalks have turned into jungles. So many women/men are rocking the animal print trend. Embrace your inner animal and opt to take a walk on the wild side! Animal prints are huge right now! Wearing your animal print alone adds just enough drama to any outfit. Or, if you are a total trend setter ,whose always up for a dare, pair your animal prints together. Embrace your inner feline and add a leopard or tiger print item to your wardrobe! My personal favorite and the most popular print that has been spotted this season [ “spotted” no pun intended of course ;) ] is leopard print! This photo of Ralph Lauren’s leopard print shrug looks fabulous paired with the all black pieces and accessories. One way to not go overboard with a bold print is to pair it with basic colors and styles. One thing is for sure, mo matter how you wear your print you’re sure to look like the cat’s meow!

Can I take the liberty of saying that lace has always been in style? Maybe, it’s just a personal fave, but I’ve always had some lace items stashed away in my closet. It seems like this year it’s bigger than ever. Lace is no longer limited to lingerie or holiday parties. I’ve seen so many romantic, whimsical styles on the runways. Lace is no longer restricted to the traditional colors of black and white anymore either. I’ve seen it in a variety of shades blues, purples, and oranges. I usually prefer my lace to be a creamy neutral tone, but I’ve dipped my toe in the pool of color and worn plum, aqua, and black lace this season. Black lace is probably the most popular at this time. I love this dress by Monique Lhuillier, so chic and classic. You can never go wrong with black! Am I right?

Winter is on it’s way, and there’s no better way to say winter than with fur ( faux of course)! Fur adds a little something extra to any outfit. I love my fake fur on boots, coats, hats, stoles, vests, if it comes in fur, I’ll take it! I stress the importance of it being faux, because I’m all for animal rights. Ain’t nothing like the real thing, except when it comes to fur! We can protect our furry friends and still be stylish! I wish that I had this fur shrug from Prabal Gurung’s line. I just recently bought a fur, leopard print coat and I can’t wait to wear it! Life is too short not to be fierce! This winter stay warm, look hot get your fur on!

Fashion is being taken to drastic measures this year, drastic lengths that is! Our love for skirts just grew a little longer. If you haven’t heard yet the new length is maxi! The longer hemline is completely flattering on everyone! Mini skirts have the tendency to show too much. Sometimes less is more, especially when it comes to skin. With the longer length, almost any shoe can go with it. Heels or flats, boots or oxfords whatever look works for you! I’m in love with prints anyway, so of course this stunning Ralph Lauren skirt stole my heart. Wanting to add class and charm to your outfits this fall? Throw on a maxi skirt or dress. Whichever you choose, as long as it has some length you’ll be right in style. This year take your look to the max!

With trends like these, fall is sure to be fabulous!
