Handbags, shoppers, city bags, bowling bags, totes, shoulder bags, satchels, purses, clutches: we love em all and most of us own at least one of each. Our moms and boyfriends tell us we really don’t need another “bag” (to those INFIDELS they’re all the same). But these things are simple, bare necessities! Sorry boyfriend, but we don’t like stuffing everything we own into our pockets, causing our pants to fit weird (btw, boyfriend, you should stop doing this too). By the way, an extra pair of flats, a cardi or an umbrella don’t FIT in our pockets. Come to think of it, not all outfits even have pockets! But we really are kidding ourselves by bringing up practicality. Because if we’d let our common sense dictate our style sense, we’d never end up fawning over things like platforms, leather mini dresses, short sleeved winter coats or my latest obsession: bags with a handle. You are virtually amputating one hand by carrying one of these around, because they don’t fit your shoulder and sometimes not even your elbow, but BOY are they CUTE?
