My last fashion show for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week was on September 14, 2010. It was the Toni Francesc Spring/Summer 2011 show. Designer Toni Francesc named his collection, “Urban Forest” and it was very well defined in his collection. It was easy to understand what he had in mind. He transferred a forest-based concept to a city environment with this collection for Spring/Summer 2011.
Wood has become the key to this collection. It was seen throughout all his pieces, be it in the bangles the bracelet wore or the handbags that looked like logs of wood, and even up to the wooden necklaces that were either separate or connected to the necklines of his pieces. They were actually gorgeous. The wooden accessories were one of the things that has struck me and how effortless the matching was done. The clothes were definitely modern yet refined and sophisticated. I couldn’t have imagined mixing in the wooden accessories with such elegant clothes. Who thought diamonds and pearls are the only jewelry you can use for such classy dresses and suits? It was brilliant.
There were a lot of forest greens, whites, grays, powder blues and beiges in the collection. And may I add that the cuts and back were all stunning. The Toni Francesc Spring/Summer 2011 is definitely a success.
