I made it to the big city safe and sound! Once I got in around 6 A.M, my day was jammed pack with events, including attending four shows at the Mercedes-Bens Fashion Week. The first one I attended was Buckler S/S 2011. It was held in the Box, which is a room where everyone stands (or sits on the floor) for a quick runway show and then after the show, the models pose for a presentation where you can take better photos. I was sitting on the floor in front and got trampled on quite a bit, but it’s okay the view was incredible!
This collection is definitely a reflection of how I want all men to look. Everything was just so tailored and so well put together! Andrew Buckler’s collection was definitely an update from the everyday classical pieces of blazers, cardigans, shorts, trench coats, and even sportswear. I loved how he mixed textures such as mesh, leather, and cotton together. He even stuck with my favorite color combination of red, white, and blue—which gave it a bit of a nautical twist to the collection. You can’t get anymore Spring/Summer than nautical themed outfits. I also love how easily this collection can be translated onto girls, which could be influenced by his past of designing women’s ready to made.
I have attended all the fashion shows I’ve been assigned to so keep an eye out for future posts coming soon! For more photos on this show, you can visit my blog, Transient Withdrawal where I’ll post more photos of the shows when I have better internet!
