Hi! Second day of school outfits. We wanted to be a bit more comfortable but still retain our style. Today was less nerve-wracking and a bit more relaxed. Homework seems to be slowly slipping in and admitting that school will be an everyday thing seems harder and harder. Hopefully everyone is having a much funner time than we are.. :) haha. Thanks for all the AMAZING comments on yesterday’s photo, which got chosen as an Editor’s Pick, so exciting!
Daniel Iris and I both stopped right in our tracks, gasped loudly and ran toward the rack when we walked into H&M last week and saw this poncho. Needless to say we BOTH bought one, in camel no less. Love it, it’s like a cozy sweater but in a statement and unique way. Wanted to really emphasize comfort today and was going to wear jeans but really did not feel like being restricted that much. I also wanted to take away the western-ish vibe from the poncho, so the shorts and boots downplayed it. This outfit is really my version of sweats and relaxed. I thought this chambray blue colored shirt from Old Navy paired well with the camel colored poncho. It was a bit chilly today so this outfit kept me pretty warm except for the small sliver of skin exposed between my socks and shorts. The pairing is a bit odd and off when seen on a guy, but I like to play that line between masculine and feminine fashion.
Iris My outfit was inspired by J. Crew, and oddly enough Daniel has this same jacket as well. We found it in Urban Outfitters and both got it because it was only ten dollars and there was a bunch of them. Paired it with this tulle/lace topped dress that is a bit hard to see here. I loved the pairing of army basics with my basics. I wear a lace dress all the time, and this is my new one for this year. Love the delicate stringy lace on the top of it. I’ll no doubt be wearing so much this year that not showing it completely on this post is fine.. haha. Wore mustard yellow tights under it because I love this color and all sorts of Autumnal-warm toned colors like yellows, oranges, and deep reddy browns. The shoes are from Target and they keep the entire look a bit more relaxed and less done-up looking.
