Hello everybody! It’s back to school for us, today was our first day of our senior year in high school. Utterly dreadful. Okay, it wasn’t completely horrible, but not the way we’d prefer to spend our time, haha. Anyways, onto our outfit descriptions.
Daniel I was very much inspired by the model off duty styles of Sasha Pivovarova and Hanne Gaby Odiele. I wanted to create a stylish and fashion forward look while keeping it very layered, warm and cozy. I thought about how it was my first day and some people/teachers would be seeing me for the first time and a first impression of me should speak to exactly who I am and my style. I wanted to make sure the outfit was dramatic without being offputting. So I kept it simpler on top with a basic plaid shirt, leather jacket, and hand-knit scarf (by my mom). For the bottom, I decided to up the drama because it wouldn’t really be seen unless I was walking around or standing up. I got this fringe skirt from an American Apparel rummage sale and wore it above some shorts and bejeweled F21 leggings, which are basically a staple-look for me. Black boots finish off my first-day-of-school outfit.
Iris I love the vibrant blue on my grandma’s dress, which I’ve had for a long time but have never worn. I decided that today would be a good day to wear it with some new acquisitions. The H&M brooches were kind of an impulse buy but I really love how they look on this jacket and basically all of my clothes, they’re adorable! I decided on going with the maroon/wine colored tights because it’s my favorite color to wear, so I thought it would represent my style pretty well to wear them. The brown boots were a VERY recent purchase (got them on labor day) and I’ve needed some new brown flat boots to replace my old ones that are crippled dead because I wore them too much. I got them at a Salvation Army. I wasn’t going to wear a belt but the waist on the dress fits a bit odd on me, so I chose this tan leather braided belt that I wear with almost everything.
