Trendspotting: Fall Florals
One of my all-time favorite fashion elements are floral prints. Come fall, I feel a little twinge of regret as I realize that this beloved component of my wardrobe is traditionally set aside in favor subtle plaid and solid-tone fabrics. However, the other day I was browsing through the Style Gallery and was pleasantly surprised to see the number of creative Chictopians sporting warm-weather floral prints in fall-perfect outfits.
1. Ice Ice Baby-
missmatchgirrrl rocks her fall florals in a bold, 80’s-esque ensemble. The bright hues of her magenta and green floral print crop top contrast deliciously with her fresh blue harem pants. She gives her outfit a hint of 2010 fall fashion with bold black ankle boots and a coordinating black bandeau top, but continues the vintage vibe with statement-making red lips and cat-eye glasses.
2. Borne on the Fm waves of the heart
Chictopia Style Icon, delightfullytacky , goes for a laid-back, shabby-chic look. She combines a dainty robin’s-egg-blue floral dress with a woodsy plaid flannel tie-up shirt and earthy beige Western-inspired booties. Her outfit is completed with one of nature’s best possible accessories: a gorgeous and eye-catching head of hair!
3. Long day
Bohemian darling, gutterfairy , works florals into a creative and artistic outfit ideal for fall. She pairs an exotic 70’s buttercup-yellow print maxi dress with a long fur vest and black fedora, resulting in a unique Parisian, yet gypsy-like look. Avant-garde chicness indeed!
Although the title of her post was in reference to the popular AMC show, Fashezine’s feminine retro ensemble is perfect for another “mad” occasion, namely Alice in Wonderland’s Mad Tea Party! Her warm-weather floral dress is prepped for fall with crisp white tights and pumps, artfully accessorized with a whimsical brown ruffled fascinator and charming silver watch locket necklace.
Bold Style Icon, joannaladrido combines a subtle floral print with fierce statement accessories. Her muted olive green flowered trousers offset the glitzy vibe of her studded leather back and metallic rosary chain necklaces. She ties the two distinct fashion genres together with a harmonious color scheme, complete with a knit beret and buttery brown shoes.
Don’t stow away your beloved summer floral items just yet! As proved by these trendsetting Chictopians, floral prints are right at home in your wardrobe, no matter the changing seasons.
