I’m absolutely, head-over-heels in love. With this skirt. I don’t think I’ve ever loved a garment as much.
I was at Zara a week or so ago, scouring the store to find a pair of shoes under 80 dollars or a t-shirt under 20. Sometimes Zara’s pricing is ridiculous for those of us on a budget, amirite? I did discover a whole rack of gorgeous blazers, all very discounted ($40 or less!), only to be disappointed to find out that they were all size XS or XL. Same goes for a whole table of beautiful lace and patterned bodysuits. Oh, the inconvenience of being an average size when shopping the end-of-season sales. Anyways, I continued my hunt for a deal. When I found the skirt I was overjoyed. It was the most adorable skirt I had ever seen, and when I tried it on, I was sold. Plus it was only $16! A bargain by Zara standards. The asymmetrical drape of the skirt is perfectly elegant and romantic, yet is stays modern and cute with the swimmer-girl pattern. I feel particularly attached to this skirt because I love to swim, and I feel that the girl in the pattern would be an accurate representation of myself as a young child.
Something else I’ve been loving lately is wearing a long scarf tied as a bandeau, and worn under a tank top or off-shoulder shirt. It’s nice because you don’t have to worry about a visible bra strap, and it adds an interesting neck detail without jewelry.
I feel very “clean” in this outfit because of all the white…but I love the overall look. It’s a definite change from my normally favored blacks and greys, but I feel like the mixed patterns keeps it looking very “me.” I do have a problem, though. I don’t know what shoes to wear with this! I feel like black sandals look too harsh, but white would be too matchy-matchy. I have some electric blue flats…but I’m not sure if those look right either. Suggestions please?
