Chic People: s3r3nity
With her eclectic hippie-meets-Victorian style, enthusiastic blog posts, and cheerful and encouraging comments, she’s a model of both outward and inner beauty. I’ve been a fan of s3r3nity for a long time.
1. Q: How did you hear about Chictopia and why did you decide to join?
A: I discovered Chictopia last year while I was looking for some inspiration for my fall outfits. It was love at first sight and I immediately decided to join. It was exactly what I was looking for: lovely people, amazing friends and lot of inspiration!
2. Q: What’s your favorite thing about being a member of Chictopia?
A: I love Chictopia because it’s such a great community. I found so many different styles here, amazing creative people and so much inspiration. The best thing about being a Chictopia member is that you can share your style without being afraid that somebody may think you’re weird or make malicious comments because all Chictopians are so different and we all understand and accept this.
Here, I find inspiration every day and I have the opportunity to inspire others too. I found here so many friends and they are my best inspiration. So thank you so much, guys for your support!
3. Q: How did you get interested in fashion and outfit blogging? What did you dress like as a little girl?
A: I used to paint a few years ago. Unfortunately, I haven’t painted anything since high school, but now I love playing with colors on my outfits. I think this comes almost naturally. I discovered some great fashion blogs and that’s how actually get interested in fashion and blogging. Blogging is something quite new for me. I never did it before finding Chictopia.
When I was a little girl I wore bright colorful outfits, especially dresses and skirts. I had my first pair of jeans in primary school but I still love skirts more than jeans. :)) Anyway, my mother used to make lots of clothes for me. Most of them were skirts, dresses and knitted sweaters. I think I was a kind of little Barbie doll for her. :))
4. Q: You’re quite well known for your self-described “romantic and bohemian” vintage – inspired style. What is your favorite decade or time for vintage fashion?
A: It’s so hard for me to choose one decade but I especially love Victorian and 70’s vintage clothing. I think Victorian fashion is the most romantic and feminine fashion ever. Vintage Victorian cameos and ruffled blouses are my favorite items and definitely something I will always wear. I love 70’s vintage clothing very much too. It’s the best decade for bohemian style and the cutest way to stay chic but relaxed at the same time!
5. Q: Where do you shop for clothes?
A: We don’t have any branded clothing stores in my town because it’s so small so I go shopping in little stores for clothing, shoes or jewelry. But I especially love thrifting because it’s the single way you can find good quality branded clothes and lovely vintage accessories, especially purses and lot of scarves for really cheap prices. That’s how my outfits always keep that vintage vibe that I love so much.
6. Q: Do you have any fashion inspirations or style icons?
A: People on the streets (especially old ladies and grannies), fashion blogs, Chictopia, nature and historical movies inspire me. I don’t actually have a style icon but I think Audrey Hepburn, Sienna Miller and Taylor Swift have lovely styles.
7. Q: We know you love patterns and prints! Do you have any suggestions as how to incorporate these fashion elements into our wardrobes?
A: Yes, patterns are one of my favorite fashion trends. Mixing prints is the perfect way to have fun because you have so many options.
When you want to mix patterns it’s important to choose prints that have at least one color in common and always keep the rest of the outfit as simple as possible so you can let the prints stand out.
You can try stripes and florals, stripes and ethnic prints, dots and florals, dots and vertical stripes, plaid and florals to create unique combinations. Think out of the box and use printed accessories too. A striped blouse and ethnic scarf can stand out so easily if you put the scarf around your neck or use it as a belt.
8. Q: What’s your number one favorite item in your wardrobe?
A: My number one favorite item in my wardrobe is some black high waisted shorts. They are so flattering, comfy and versatile for any season. Can’t wait to pair them with some colorful tights!
9. Q: You have such flawless complexion! Can you tell us about your daily beauty and make-up routine?
A: I always use as little make-up as possible because l love natural looks so I use just a simple black kohl Rimmel London and classic eye pencil. I use Garnier Skin Naturals products and cold water to remove the make-up and keep my skin healthy.
10. Q: Are you looking forward to any particular fall fashion trends?
A: Yes, sure. Mixing prints, high waisted buttons, cardigans, oxford shoes, ethnic printed scarves, boots and earthy colors are my favorite fall trends. This fall I’ll go for bohemian, preppy and classy 40’s inspired outfits. Some new cardigans and boots are already on my wish list.
