Our Look Check out how we style this trend here: Neutrality & Camel
We mixed opulence, minimalism, and return of classic fashion styles to create a look with Fall 2010’s favorite colors. With gold accessories (necklaces on Iris, belt on Daniel) we added in a bit of the opulent trend with our minimal and solid colored pieces. Browns and beiges are the new black and camel is definitely the front runner in this pack.
THE TREND: Ladylike
The ladylike trends has been on the rise for a couple seasons now and it’s in full force for Fall 2010. Dresses, chic trousers, silky blouses, and long hemlines dominate this look and it’s easy to capture this with this season’s biggest color, beige. Meggstatus shows off this trend with a long skirt and lace top, adding her personal stylish twist of a bright colored hat. Keeping all the colors in a warm brown and beige tone really help this look stand out and look polished. Don’t be afraid of wearing a full outfit in Fall’s color because it neutrals will always look impossibly chic.
—> The Inspiration: Chloe, Louis Vuitton, and Marc Jacobs
—> Finish it off: Pair this look with structured small bags and nude or brown shoes
THE TREND: Country Girl Clogs
The clog made its way into fashion last season and people are still in love with the controversial shoe that is supposed to be ugly. This season they are packed with extra height and extra clunk. The Fall clog is thick heeled and very chunky. Just because last season was the return of the clog, doesn’t mean you can’t bring it into this one. Ouijesuis shows Chictopians how to do it by working the frill and fancy with her pretty tiered skirt. Country girl fits right in with Fall 2010’s trends. It’s casual and classic, cute, and western all at the same time. For a fresh update, try it in a wedge or boot form.
—> The Inspiration: Chanel and Celine
—> Finish it off: Puffed sleeves and frills for a romantic look, or go minimalist with a chic and simple coat
THE TREND: Capes
The cape is one of fashion’s most coveted pieces right now and we totally see why. They are chic, refined and classic looking yet with a playful edge. A camel cape is so versatile, the styles and outfits are endless. We suggest trying it with denim on denim because it looks chic and casual. Playingwithfire fires up her cape with a burnt orange scarf and bright clutch. We love how she paired it with the scarf, and H&M seems to agree that the darker version of orange is the way to go when styling a cape. When wearing a cape, keep everything simple yet statement.
—> The Inspiration: Alexander Wang, H&M, and Chloe
—> Finish it off: Refine the bottoms, keep them either close to the body or very tailored. Wear it with denim and/or burnt orange colors.
THE TREND: Coats & Fur
The camel coat is the must have item for this season. It’s the it-piece that showed up in all the September issues and runway shows. If you only get one piece this season, get the camel coat. Do we sound like a broken record yet? Yes. Okay, moving on. Outerwear is always a big concern during Fall and this season it’s chic and classic. Disarmingdarling is adorable in her vintage camel colored fur trimmed coat that really exemplifies this season well. There are so many different ways to style this coat, our only advice is to wear it the way you want to because it instantly adds chic to any outfit. Fur is also big this season and it’s in everybody’s favorite FW2010 colors: brown, beige, and khaki.
—> The Inspiration: Chloe, Michael Kors, Alexander Wang, Chanel, Burberry
—> Finish it off: Get a long length coat, it’s practical and wearable drama at its best.
