Hey guys & gals!
Hope this post reaches you well, and that you have enjoyed a super weekend so far – long may that continue….Monday has a nasty habit of creeping up all too soon! (Hate the sound of my alarm clock first thing Monday morning, if there is a worse sound in the world – let me know..!!)
Me and my girlfriend decided to take a nice trip down to Portobello Market, which is near Notting Hill (No, I didnt see the blue door to the book shop…lolz)
This truly is an amazing place to shop. In the the early 20th century, this area had a thriving market dealing in groceries such as fresh fish, fruit, meats etc. But pretty much since the 1950’s, it has become a famous area for selling fashion. When I say that you can walk around all day, browsing stalls and shops and still manage to miss a few shops, well I am not kidding! I bet each and every one of you would love this place.
I brought a few items, more of them in later blogs…
My outfit for the day was very classic English, neat black waistcoat, chinos, oxford shoes, plain white shirt and striped bow tie! I got a fair few lovely comments – mainly while I was posing for the camera!! LOL!
I really enjoyed this outfit, the classic style of dressing has always been one of my faves – what do you guys reckon…?
A rather funny bit happened halfway during the day. We was in a pub, I was enjoying a thoroughly cold pint of beer (I am a Londoner, its very popular here) and my girlfriend – a soft drink, orange juice. Anyway, I digress. We ended up chatting to this married couple, they made a nice comment about what I was wearing and we began having a great laugh! The guy was like 63 and his wife was considerably younger – and very pretty! They were very happy together, and it was a joy to hear their stories about the area, them being locals and all! To top it off, a very well known boxer from the late ’60’s was drinking there. Apparantly (I am no fan or expert, of boxing) he was the World Champion for many years. I am not sure if I should publish his name in full here, but the initials was AK….
Anyway, thats me for the day. I am off to sleep!
Thanks guys, and I hope the photos look ok. I used my camera phone. Its 5MP so fingers crossed!
Kind Regards, and take care
