Hey everyone! Here’s our entry for the Forever 21 Back To School Standout Contest.
Daniel I found this jumpsuit in Marshall’s and it’s like a vest and silk trousers in one, it’s such a great and interesting piece that looks so unique and fun yet refined and put together. It’s and easy way to add something different to any outfit. The Forever 21 plaid shirt makes the outfit much more dressed down and young. It balances the drama so that I don’t scare my teachers, haha. Back to school outfits should express individual style and stand out while keeping a little understated so that you can still surprise people later on in the year, and shock value should not be at a high percentage, haha. Added some Dr. Martens, a cross necklace, and a Disney letterman jacket to keep the look fun and more of a masculine take on the slightly more feminine jumpsuit.
Iris I love to mix patterns and this is the perfect way to do it to stand out back to school. I used a floral dress that undoubtedly will be a big pattern for other students but I styled it in a way that probably no others would. Mixing patterns really stands out because it gives an outfit more dimension than solids. I love the pinstripe jacket with this dress because it has a red stripe in it which complements the red flowers in the dress. The leopard print tights are definitely a unique piece that most others wouldn’t think of pairing with the busy floral but they go together perfectly! I love gold accessories, so this locket from Forever 21 and brooch make the outfit more ornate and detailed.
We both stand out in school but it’s really strange to write about because it sounds kind of conceited haha. Oh well. Anyways, our style is completely different from our classmates because we take much more risks and style things in a unique way. Most people think our clothes are expensive because we are quite elaborate dressers but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Our style is extremely affordable and most everything shown here is under $20. Forever 21 and other stores help us keep our fashion affordable and stylish at the same time. We don’t really set the trends but we do cause people to stare or ask us questions because we make an impact with our style of dress.
This contest was so fun to do because we took school staples and made them our own in a very Forever 21 way, mixing different styles to create a unique look. The prize is amazing.. $100 dollars at Forever 21? Even splitting it between the two of us at $50 that’s still an amazing amount of new clothes for Back To School!
