My style revolves around pulling inspiration from different periods and making it my own. My style is mainly inspired by the 20th century, but this particular outfit is inspired by the late 1800s. When I put together an outfit, I’m putting on a character and become someone else. Today, I’m an adventurous and artistic European traveling around the Mediterranean. Being a filmmaker, I create characters in my mind and sometimes I want to be my own protagonist in my own film. I dream about living in Rome, riding on a Vespa with a tall, dark, handsome stranger, devouring Roman style pizza and sipping on elderflower cordial under the blue sky. Being a bit of a Europhile (which is an understatement), I like to revolve my style around romantic European fashion of the early to mid 20th century. I’m wearing two items from Forever 21, the straw boater and flower headband simultaneously on my head, this is inspired by the Ralph Lauren Spring 2008 RTW Collection. This collection may have been showcased in the fall of 2007, but I think it’s a timeless and classic collection that will always be inspirational. I tend to overdress, I would prefer to be overdressed than underdressed, it’s part of my philosophy. I try to be fearless in my fashion and life choices, which is part of being an empowered and ambitious woman that I aspire to be for the rest of my life.
