Every now and then, I would borrow something from my guy. In fact, even before the terms boyfriend shirt, boyfriend jeans or boyfriend blazers were coined, I have been accustomed to borrowing something from my Hubby’s closet. There’s something fun about wearing an over-sized shirt like the one I’m wearing in the photo. It feels so comfy and I feel so relaxed when I borrow this shirt from my Hubby. It’s big enough to let the breeze in. Haha. But seriously, it’s actually refreshing and it’s like a go-to shirt when I’m so lazy to think about what top will go with what.
Here are some tips on how to borrow from your guy.
When borrowing an over-sized shirt, what you can do is to tie a knot at the side to give you a flattering shape while at the same time maintaining the loose fit on the top part of the shirt. Instead of tying it in the center, tie it slightly to the side to give it a more creative look or design. Another way to do this is by tucking in the shirt loosely. Leave an inch or two hanging to give your outfit a cool look. On the other hand, you can also tightly tuck in the shirt and cover up with a wide belt to give you a more flattering hour glass figure. You can wear an over-sized shirt with shorts, pants and even skirts.
Another piece of apparel you can borrow from your guy is a button up shirt. In order to make it work for you, do not close the buttons at the bottom up to your waist. Instead, use those two sections to tie a knot for a resort look. As for the sleeves, roll them up or fold to your desired length. This top will look cute with a modest length skirt, short shorts, cropped pants or even harem pants.
