Have you seen the full skirts in full swing at fashion shows for Fall 2010? Oh yes, full skirts or what we call modest-length skirts are going back this Fall. Louis Vuitton is a perfect example of a fashion house that showcased several full skirts on the runway. But why wait for Fall to wear the full skirt trend? Summer is actually the perfect season to wear those full skirts. Here are some tips on how to make it work for you this summer season.
Choosing the perfect length
Since it’s summer, it’s best to go a little shorter than those skirts Marc Jacobs sent to the runway. Go for knee-length or just a little above the knee for the warmer months of the year.
Match it with a Fitted Top
When wearing a full skirt, allow its volume to speak for itself. You don’t have to wear tops that are bold or have too much volume so you don’t overdo it. Go for a fit shirt or fitted blouse to complement the full skirt.
Some of us weren’t born with long and lean legs. And since these longer skirts tend to shorten our legs, we need something to compensate for that. The solution? Heels! Wear platforms, wedges or tall booties that will help you trick the eye and make your legs look longer and leaner.
