So I guess mixed prints is a S/S 2010 trend and sometimes I’m reluctant to get on board with trends or even admit that I submit to trends, but there’s something strangely rejuvenating about clashing. Is that strange? Perhaps. Not saying that every mixed-print ensemble involves clashing… but you get the point. I’m used to wearing this top with plain bottoms and this skirt with the same old solid colored shirts, so I decided to mix it up. And what better way to do so by pairing two unlikely items? Or if you want to count these acid wash sneakers, I guess there’s three prints. Anyway, I feel obligated to hand the spotlight over to other Chictopians who mix their printed items quite well.
Still not comfortable mixing and matching? Take some cues from these stylish ladies.
1. Jennifer (swtqtjen56) kept it cohesive with a neutral color palette. These bold prints work wonderfully together!
2. Style Icon in3gue paired a striped top with a floral turban. This is a subtle way to add interest to your outfit.
3. Another Style Icon, Speedbump has paired a printed top with printed accessories. Not only am I practically drooling over her shoes, but she wears prints so effortlessly.
4. Last, but not least, omavintage wore two contrasting prints. However, the shoes are perfectly simple enough to balance out this outfit. The combination is great!
