I know I’m super late and just barely, hopefully making the cut, but I was really excited for this contest! If you haven’t noticed, I love to have items in my wardrobe that are versatile and have an ability to be worn over and over again without being boring… I mean, I have a ton of shoes but I wear all of them all of the time and still make them different depending on what I’m wearing, so who says you can’t do that with shorts or any other item in your wardrobe? I kind of wish this pair of shorts was a skirt, which would allow me to wear it as a top and over a dress, but alas, they are shorts and so I did what I could. I picked these because they seem pretty loud or hard to work with because of the style and pattern, but I beg to differ!
Look #1 – summer lovin’
I am becoming more brave and loving the mixed print style, and I felt that stripes with these shorts went perfectly! I paired them with a cool black hat and simple summer wedges – I think this look could be for a party near the beach, a night on the town, or shopping and lunch with girlfriends during the day. I just kept thinking, summer… summer.. summer. (If I had a white hat, I would wear that!)
Look #2 – workwear casual
I think this outfit is suitable for work, at least, a work where you are allowed to wear shorts! These shorts have a skirt kind of feel, but would still be too short for a formal work place. The simple tie top compliments the tie of the shorts, and the shoes add a little twist while still remaining simple. Paired it with silver accessories.
Look #3 – first date
I don’t know about you, but I like to feel sexy but classic and comfortable on a first date. Whether it’s out to dinner with your “Boyf” or a prospective boyfriend, I think this look is cute and carefree. It’s not giving away too much… peep toes, and a “dress” look without the dress. A semi-sheer blouse with a black bra underneath gives a little bit of sexiness while not being revealing, and the shorts underneath the skirt give the appearance of a belt! I tied the sash of the shorts in a bow which I thought made it cuter and more like a belt, and later on after dinner you won’t feel your belt is wearing too tight around your waist – the shorts have an elastic hem at the back! Genius.
I hope this helps you be more creative with your own wardrobe, I know I’ve been inspired by every other one of your entries!
