I´ve learned you cannot overestimate the power of a simple, black dress, when I´ve found this one on H&M sale. Suddenly I felt so inspired to style it just adding different accessories. I also made some of them myself, so that I could feel that I can be whatever I want in this dress, a flying traveller from the future, an andalusian widow or Anne of Green Gables.
I outfit- The Extraterrestrial Warrior
Wearing this shoes and glasses I feel totally unreal, like a person coming from the outer space. The details, shoes, glasses and the feather shoulder pads made by me makes the look a bit gothic, a bit androgynous, a bit Lady Gaga style. The back dress styled this way becomes and armor for the lonely warrior from a different planet.
II outfit- The Andalusian Widow
Maybe because of my part latin background, I´m very fascinated by the old, spanish and southern culture. The times, when the women wear mantillas, covering their faces, but in the same time tempting with the blinks casted from above the lace curtain…In this outfit I´m a bit of an andalusian widow, a bit of a Spanish senorita, a bit of a sad pierrot . I used the gloves from restyle.pl, the headpiece from Bik Bok sale and the precious collar by the London base designer No-Wear to make this look. The black dress reveals its duality here- on one hand modest and simple, on another- tempting and sensual.
III outfit- Ann of Green Gables
After this 2 theatrical and outstanding outfits, I wanted to show the dress in its simplicity, with a casual, but a bit vintage twisted style. With a straw hat from oysho and a Miu Miu inspired collar which I made myself, I feel like a polite young lady from the edwardian era, raised in a parisian private school or strictly educated as Ann from the Green Gables. It´s also to show that this dress can be a very good summer alternative.
So, if you also want to explore all shades of black- just let your imagination fly freely and crate different stories with simply adding the accessories.
