I’ve chosen to use this Peter Alexander playsuit as my little piece to remix with. It has the most amazing little TEAPOT! pattern all over it with little grey hearts as well :) Peter Alexander is actually a sleepwear retailer, and designs very cute/fancy sleepwear which some of, I believe are better suited for the daytime! However the tag of this little one did say ‘I like it Night and Day’ on it.. and I definitely believe this one belongs more for the day than the night!
Look ONE – Romantic Date/Picnics/Valentines Day/A little Dressy Look
For the first look I’ve gone for a little cute/girly/romantic look. I’ve layered a vintage blouse underneath to give the perception that the playsuit comes with a collar, and added a vintage scalloped jacket(took me so long to alter this almost 3 sizes smaller) for lovely romantic & intricate detailing. The a lovely ruffled headband with romantic pearls and florals keeps with the theme very well too and the tights contrasting with the cream shoes accentuate the details of the ruffles on the heels :)
Look TWO – Casual/Going Out to the City/Party Look
This look is more suited to going out to the city or hanging out with friends. It is a lot more casual as a bit of black has been worked into it to keep it less eye-catching :) I always love wearing black and red together, I think it’s a great colour combination! Oh, and yep, the umbrella is indeed handy for Melbourne weather, it started raining when I took the photos! You never know what to expect when you’re out! A little bag is also needed to keep your phone and wallet :)
Look THREE – Weekend/Going Out with the Guys/Chill Look
This one is a very casual look, great for the weekend and for times when you just want to relax. Here the playsuit is layered underneath a pair of (maroon velvet) shorts and a cardigan. Black flats are worn with the black tights to keep it simple and casual.. don’t want to be wearing heels! However, I’ve also decided to wear a headband to give it that little girly touch, so you don’t look like you’ve suddenly turned tomboy if you’re a girly girl like me hahahha :)
TIPS FOR REMIXING PLAYSUITS!
1. if your playsuit is patterned, make sure the items you wear with it don’t intensify the amount of pattern and difference in your look, it can get a little busy and look dizzy!
2. try to layer it with different things to make it appear different – put a shirt underneath to give it the illusion that it is really a collared playsuit, or add a cardigan/tights to give it wearing in both summer and winter
3. add some accessories, but do try to keep it balanced and clean!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy my entry :) I’ll be posting up detailed pics of these on my blog in the next few days if you want to check it out
