So, “LBD” usually stands for little, BLACK dress, but as a girl with blue eyes, I’ve come to realize that the little, blue variety is also my best friend. Though, whether it’s sky, navy, lapis, or ice I think most shades of blue look good on most people—with or without the eyes to match!
So, I’ve done the three B’s of remixing blue here:
Outfit ONE: Business
Here’s a classy business-casual outfit for a job interview or an important day at uni. I’m wearing the blue Urban Outfitters dress with a blazer (a piece in my opinion that gets you instantly taken more seriously), some grey tights and matching grey/blue shoes. I actually named these shoes “The Nonfiction Pumps” in one of Modcloth.com’s “Name it and win It” contests. And my other Modcloth piece in the outfit is the “Study Hall Satchel.” I’m all business!
Outfit TWO: Bohemian
Boho chic is pretty in this summer so I thought I’d try it out with a tunic that a friend got me right over the dress! I’m wearing my mom’s seashell beads from back when she dressed like this, too. :-) The belt is a basic I can usually add to any dress to polish it up, and the shoes are my first chic reward! They just arrived yesterday. Thank you SO much, Chictopia!
Outfit THREE: Bows
This one is the really girly look that also seems to be in right now. I might have gone over-BOWard, but I think it still works. I’ve got a bow headband, necklace and belt on with the dress and a fun a-line skirt to make the once neutral dress into a cutesy top. The t-straps work as a sort of modern ballet slipper for me, too! I look kind of like a doll in this picture, no?
So, my tips on remixing things:
1. find a signature color, or one that really works for you!
2. get a piece that starts out neutral and goes wild when you add things—you may not want it to be wild when you start
3. pay attention to current trends and see if your piece can fit in with more than one!
Hope you liked my looks _
