hen I was little I always played around in my leotard and tutu, twirling around the house to The Nutcracker soundtrack. I could go on doing so for hours on end, so my mom enrolled me in ballet class. I’ve always loved to dance and even competed on dance team in junior high school. I was never a hardcore ballet dancer, for I went on to prefer much more the upbeat movements of jazz and hip hop. Yet, the elegance, grace, strength, and agility of ballerinas have always mystified me and sometimes I wish I could do what they do with such ease and poise. Anyways, I wanted to channel my inner ballerina this day. Nothing screams toe shoes more than a blush pink tone. When I found this skirt at H&M I could not help but be pulled in by its intricately pleated front and overall girlish feel. The zipper in the back sealed the deal. Paired with pretty white lace and a bun, it makes me feel quite like the ballet dancer I’ve always dreamed of being when I was little. Now I feel like watching Save The Last Dance and Center Stage, two of my all-time favorite dance movies. Have any of you dreamed of being a ballet dancer when you were little?
