I’m completely smitten with this gorgeous dress and these shoes. I found them both in thrift stores. Isn’t it amazing how you can turn one person’s trash into treasure? I never thought I’d be sporting a 1980’s sailor-esque ensemble, yet these are some of my favorite photos I’ve posted to date!
It’s for reasons like these I feel strongly that I should be considered as Beso’s Style Inspiration for their August Fashion Correspondent. I’m not afraid to try new things. And, I do it in a way that is relevant to other young women out there. I dress on a budget. My New Year’s resolution for 2010 was to only shop at thrift stores (except for the occasional necessities or basic items.) While I must admit I’ve cheated a few times, I’ve been amazed at how much I’ve stuck to my guns in this resolution, and secondly, how it has transformed my style. I dress on a budget, which is something any girl can relate to. And, I’m trying new trends, or even creating them, because I’m no longer afraid to go out on a limb and try something new that I find in a thrift store that I won’t necessarily catch at the mall. I’m just a down-to-earth girl bringing some down-to-earth style. I think that’s plenty inspirational. Those are the types of girls and women that inspire me, anyhow.
I also strongly believe I should be considered to be both Beso’s Style Inspiration and Fashion Correspondent because of my participation in the Chictopia community. I’ve recently become a frequent contributor to the EverybodyIsUgly blog, making me one of Chictopia’s Featured Editors. Commentating and experiencing fashion and style have become some of the most enjoyable things I do on a day to day basis, and I would bring that experience and enthusiasm to Beso.com, as well.
