I went on a thrifting rampage while in Chicago. Of all the cities in which I’ve lived (5 of them) and visited, Chicago has hands down the best thrift stores, ever. The thing about New York and to some extent even San Francisco is that vintage stores know what designer items are worth. Vintage and thrift finds are way overpriced considering at the end of the day, it’s just used clothes. But in Chicago, prices are fair and even absurdly cheap! I got this skirt for $1.50! And the Coach I’m carrying was only $10. The scarf is Bill Blass and was just 90 cents. OBSESSED.
The most expensive thing in this outfit has got to be my shoes. They’re Jeffrey Campbell, a brand I’ve only recently become obsessed with. They make the most comfortable wedges. I wear these almost every day to the point where it’s kind of disgusting. But that’s the best thing when you buy “pricey” items – wearing them all the time. It’s all about cost per wear!
