I’m so thrilled Teen Vogue and Chictopia are hosting a wardrobe remix contest, since those are some of my favorite outfits to make!
For this remix I thought I’d challenge myself a bit by wearing a dress that isn’t super easy to remix. Still, I managed to wear it backwards (love the way the zipper detail looks that way!), layered under a pencil skirt, over a bow blouse, and simply as it is with some fun tights. I like every combination and I’m wearing the look with red tights right now…maybe I’ll wear one of other looks around tomorrow!
My tips:
-change the shape of the garment with safety pins
-layer things on top or beneath it
-wear it backwards
Look One:
the dress plays center stage and I added some red tights for a dash of color
Look Two:
the dress is worn like a tee shirt under a pencil skirt (safety pins made the skirt of the dress shorter and slimmer)
Look Three:
backwards! love the long zipper, so it’s nice to play it up
Look Four:
a little sheer bow blouse underneath changes the “mood” or style of the piece
Look Five:
a DIY bubble hem with safety pins makes it feel more modern and architectural, so I kept that feeling with leggings and wedges
