If Kristine can make “Grandma” a style then I definitely think Nautical should be added to the drop-down list of styles we can choose from when we upload photos.
From classic and timeless pieces like stripes, khaki shorts, and navy blazers, nautical outfit are always in—no matter the season or the year. There’s just such a vintage yet modern feeling about stripes and the colors red, white, and blue together that make it acceptable to appear patriotic on the 364 unbirthdays of the United States.
There really are no right ways of being nautical. You can be subtle or literal. The possibilities are endless. Whichever way you bring out your inner sailor, just know that you’ll always be doing it in style. But just in case you’ve lost your sea legs, here some ideas.
1. A sailor dress is probably the easiest way to achieve that nautical look. Add a straw hat or a red belt or just some tights and sunnies like HoneyBunny did and you’re all set to go. Besides it could double as a Halloween costume in October!
2. LivingTheVogue shows that nautical look can be brought to the office with a cute sweater and crisp trousers.
3. Red is the perfect accent to any outfit. Nabilaa used it to boost a blouse-jean-combo to nautical chicness.
4. Paxie_aiza looks beach ready with her casual nautical outfit.
My next mission?
To put stripes and florals in the color spectrum :)
