A friend introduced me to the most fabulous place to shop in Hong Kong and I never knew about it until now. People have often toted Fa Yuen Street in Mongkok (MK) to be the best shopping place for cheap clothes but what I didn’t know was that you had to bypass the center street cluttered with stalls selling cheesy HK t shirts and faux jade. The real deal is located next to the stores situated on the ground level of apartments on the sidewalk. There you can find rows of small stores with clothes for a mere $60-$80 HKD. The latest Japanese trends can all be found there: floral maxi dresses, denim vests and pajama-esque jumpsuits. Stace and I went a little nuts.
The striped tank top I’m sporting that looks awfully like a recent H&M piece is chiffon and came with a bandeau bra (sorry can’t sport that in the office but maybe some time for the beach!) and it was a $70. I saw the same top at Island Beverly in Causeway Bay for $600. 0_0
I have been looking for genderless statement jewelry for some time amidst a sea of delicate lockets and charm bracelets and I FINALLY found it in the first jewelry vendor I saw which I ended up getting two necklaces for $120 HKD (the cross one as well).
Yep this beats H&M and Zara. I never thought I’d say that.
