I am so incredibly happy right now. I went to prom last night with my boyfriend of six months. It was amazingly magical and wonderful. He has got to be the world’s most wonderful person. I love him so much, I can’t even express it verbally. I just feel like jumping up and down and singing and falling asleep and laughing and crying with joy. I love him.
I wore a vintage 80’s red silk Jessica McClintock Gunne Sacks dress from Miss Ruth’s Time Bomb vintage. (http://www.facebook.com/missruthstimebomb?v=app_169505045786 check out their Facebook and Etsy page!) It was spaghetti strapped with a boned, corset bodice, and a full skirt, which underneath I wore two petticoats. I wore vintage black silk opera gloves with a lavish vintage white rhinestone necklace, studded vintage earrings, and an oversized ring. To top it all off, I wore a self-made retro hair fascinator made of black silk, and decorated with shimmery black rooster feathers, a vintage black net veil, and a vintage white rhinestone brooch. My makeup was simply yet dark eyes, and bright red lipstick to match my dress. After much debating, I did my hair in a simple French Twist (held on by lots of hairspray!) with a few strands of curls around my face. My boyfriend got me the perfect corsage; it was dark red rosebuds with sprigs of baby’s breath and sheer black ribbon with silver accents. =)
The greatest, most wonderful aspect of the night was spending all that time with my boyfriend. He lives 3 hours away, so we’re doing a LDR (long-distance relationship), so every opportuinty to get together is hugely important. Tonight topped them all. It was seriously and truly the best and most magical night of my entire life. No matter where the future takes me with this guy, I will always, always remember yesterday for as long as I live. And despite the fact that I might end up with someone else in the long run (which I certainly hope dosn’t happen, but hey, you never know what life will give you) part of me will always love him. =)
Prom pics will be up in about a week! Stay in tune! I love my life so much right now, but even more, do I love him.
