Badley hasn’t been on Chictopia long, but her edgy, trendy style has already made waves and your votes made her a Style Icon for April. Check out her Chictopia to see her latest looks and read the interview below to get to know her better.
Where are you from?
Milton, Canada
What inspires you?
Art, music and literature.
When did you first become interested in fashion?
Ever since I was a kid! I’ve always been fascinated with fashion and clothes; I was just really subtle about it. It wasn’t until last year that I got into the whole fashion world, which really only means that I just read more magazines now.
Has your fashion sense changed over the years?
I used to be a tomboy, pretty well just jeans and t-shirt kind of girl but that changed drastically in high school. It’s also changed a huge amount in the last 8 months when I started blogging and getting into fashion sites. Now, I find I’m more open to experimenting with my style.
What does “style” mean to you?
Style is what you make of it; it’s your individuality and personality being showcased.
Who are your style icons?
The women in my family, hands down they take the title. My grandma matches her hats to her shoes, my mother’s motto is “if you can count the number of shoes you own then you don’t own enough” and my sister is always looking for the perfect black bag. No one could’ve influenced me more.
What do you feel best wearing?
A dress, a skirt, shorts, tank tops, sandals, just about any article of clothing that has to do with summer and I’m all about it.
What do you like about Chictopia?
I love the fact that it’s so diverse and everyone on here is different with a unique style. I’m also in love with the community! Everyone on this site has been incredibly sweet and amazing! I’ve received the best feedback ever and couldn’t have asked for better fans.
What is your favorite trend for spring?
Rompers! I think they are so adorable and I’m definitely on the hunt for the perfect pair this spring/summer. Also oversize bow headbands, I just have a thing for bows and headbands, so the combination has become my ideal match.
Any fashion you absolutely hate?
Five months ago I would’ve had a large list available for this type of question. But ever since I started blogging and prowling Chictopia I’ve found that I don’t hate any fashion. I’ve learned that no matter how ugly something may be there’s always that one person out there that can make it look extremely fierce! And of course this has me always changing my mind!
Any fashion advice?
Be yourself, no matter what! Even though fashion is about inspiring and taking ideas from one another, always give your look an individual twist. It’s more fun to stick out from the crowd than blending in. Also stick to your guns, if you think something looks awesome on you but someone else doesn’t seem to agree, who cares? Fashion is about feeling comfortable and confident in whatever you wear!
