Well this weekend was actually a blast, besides the flats I had to draw (and still need to finish). The foundation I am a part of hosted a Murder Mystery Dinner for fund-raising and I am excited to say that it was a big success! We had a crowd of over 100 people come out for a night of acting, amazing food catered by the wonderful Fifth Season and of course a cash bar! (Where my dad was bar tending so I got a drink on the house!) Our foundation was created in remembrance of my beautiful cousin Jacie who lost her battle to colorectal cancer 3 years ago. Our goal is to help young people just like her in their own battles by taking care of the little things for them such as bills and also educating people about the dangers of this disease especially to young people. Did you know the survival rate for young people has not increased? It’s crazy how badly cancer is affecting people my own age and taking the lives of people who have not even begun to live. That’s why I am a part of the Friend to Friend Hope and Healing Foundation. (Check us out on Facebook!)
It was also my birthday the very same night of the event and I am happy to say that I finally had an amazing birthday in four years! Thanks to everyone who made it possible! And thanks to El Carlos restaurant for my birthday sombrero and some fantastic margaritas!
And my mom for an amazing shopping day at Crocker Park :)
