My must have REVOLVE item for the spring is the Marc by Marc Jacobs bandeau belted bodysuit. It comes in two colors – navy and carmine – and I definitely wouldn’t mind having both!
I love the bodysuit because it’s an easy piece to wear. If fits close to the body and stays in place, so I don’t have to worry about sloppy tucking. For the Spring/Summer seasons, bodysuits are perfect to wear with a cute pair of high-waist denim shorts, bodycon pencil skirts (preferably in a funky techno tribal print), and frilly, feminine skirts (as shown in my photos).
My outfit was inspired by Coachella, which took place this past weekend. I imagined myself being there, jamming to the music in the hot hot heat, wearing an airy floral mini skirt, sleek, lightweight sneakers (a la Kelly Kapowski of Saved by the Bell), and my easy-peasy bodysuit – complete with snaps at the crotch for easy toilet access ’cause Lord knows I would be drinking tons of water there!!!
And of course, no outfit is complete without accessories! My striped Converse One Star belt adds a playful mix of pattern when paired with my floral print skirt. And I can’t wear a tube top with a bare neck…hence, the beaded necklace, which happens to match my belt! As for headgear, I couldn’t decide on the scarf (worn as a headband) or the linen fedora hat. The headband would absorb sweat nicely, while the hat would shade my face from the sun. DECISIONS DECISIONS!
Regardless, I think this would have been a chic, on-trend Coachella outfit, perfect for the hot desert weather in Indio, where the event took place. But I won’t let this outfit go to waste, OH NO! I’m sure there will be other music festivals for me to go to in the coming months – perhaps the Vans Warped Tour, or the Kings of Leon concert at the Hollywood Bowl in July, or Lollapalooza in Chicago! So many opportunities, all I gotta do is seize them!
