Thanks to Maria of Lulu Letty and her sponsor Cat of BrideBlu, I have a fun new piece of jewelry to add to my collection! (I was the lucky winner of a giveaway on Maria’s blog.) Cat has many gorgeous pieces (check our her etsy shop!), but I just couldn’t pass up something as unique as this. So, wearing this around today, I totally felt like Count Dracula. And in this case, that’s a good thing.
I should confess that I purchased this vintage blouse with the intention of putting it up for sale in my Etsy shop. But, I just decided it’s too cute to part with for now. I love the ruffly collar; right up there in my “moodboard” for Spring! And, I think Batty (the name of the bat pendant, of course) goes quite well against the ruffles and green. Yesterday everyone applauded me for wearing mustard yellow and bright red together (i.e. not fearing looking like a McDonald’s employee, or a mustard/ketchup duo). It may or may not be to your surprise, but I never even thought of that! Maybe I was walking around like a huge McDonald’s advertisement and I didn’t even realize it until various readers mentioned the parallel! Anyway, I loved the outfit…so much so that I decided to wear that awesome red skirt again today. Pairing it with a green shirt, I risked looking like a Christmas tree, no? I suppose you’ll have to tell me what you think.
