Well, first of all I apologize for not wearing an I love Duesseldorf shirt (I don’t own one yet). But anyway, these are my favourite shops:
Maybe this sounds boring to you, but Accessorize is my very favourite shop in Duesseldorf (it’s the German flagship store btw). They have the most lovely jewellry, hot beach stuff for summer, adorable knitwear for winter… It’s so special for me because I used to work there and I remember being completely ignorant regarding accessoires before. I never even wore a single bracelet or something, but after my year as a help there, I was extremely in love with their beautiful pieces. It was almost like Christmas when the new delivery for the shop arrived once a week and you were told to go down to the stock room to unpack the cardboards.
Eventhough there’s no more employee discount for me now, it is still the first place I head to when I’m in the city.
Another really cool store, but the complete opposite of Accessorize. They offer men’s and women’s streetwear plus accessoires plus skateboard and snowboard equipment. If you look for Volcom, Zoo York, Stüssy, Roxy, Paul Frank etc, be sure to find rad pieces of each brand there! Normally I can grant myself only a shirt or so from time to time because I’m a poor student ;) but when they have sale this shop is really worth visiting!
3. le freak and chic
This is – in my opinion – the coolest 2nd hand shop in Duesseldorf. Their range consists of clothing, shoes, jewellry, home accessoires and lots of strange and/or funny odds and ends. Stuff from 1900-2010, rummage, vintage treasures, everything. And most of the stuff is really cheap!
This used to be a 2nd hand shop in the beginning, but it has developed to Duesseldorf’s baldest, freakiest, coolest clothing-furniture-art-whatever-shop! When you enter this former garage (you stand in front of an inconspicuous garage door when it’s closed), you kind of enter another world :)
Loud colours, knick-knack, a lot of different patterns and glitter everywhere. Pink life-size unicorns meet pimp glasses meet vintage comic shirts. Even if I’ve never bought a thing, it’s always big fun and very inspiring to go there!
These are four of my favourites, but of course there are many more! We also have the Kö (the luxury shopping street), a lot of flea markets, many little independent shops of local designers and sooo ooon.
Hope you liked this! Have a beautiful day guys <3
P.S. I have a blog now, finally!! Look: http://badtastetoasttoast.blogspot.com/
