I live in Hakaniemi area and fortunately there are two good charity shops nearby, Fida and UFF. They are not that kind of places where you can just walk in ad start to collect the gems… …no, you have to go there often and really pay attention, the good bits are hidden between masses of sad, discarded garments. Few days ago I got lucky in UFF and scored this flawless nineties linen blazer.
From my previous Helsinki shopping guide I forgot two chain stores worth mentioning. Gina Tricot is a Swedish one… …and if you can get over their rather tacky advertisements the shop is a good place to find some really affordable basics – and surprisingly they often have rather bold and interesting jewelry. Vero Moda and it’s sister brands Only and Vila come from Denmark – and they all are definitely worth visiting. Vila might be my least favorite (too frilly) but I have lots of great garments from both Vero Moda and Only.
So, about the blazer… …I had zero intention to go for some formal combination with it, so I come up with this businesswoman-who-forgot-her-pants -concept. The upper half is actually almost formal with subdued layers… …but breaks to raw edge tunic, wet look leggings and boots I found from Berlin.
And my cat just sleeps in the sofa..
