i hate morning classes!!! great tips on the sweaters and legging combo. i sleep as late as i can, usually leaving me 10-15 min to get ready. i don't even have enough time to wait for the straightener to heat up!

i have a class every tuesday at 7 am , i actually considered getting dress at night going to bed...and TADA!!.. i'm ready in the morning...but i thought leggins +cardigan+scarf+sunglasses combo was a better idea.

Great tip on the leggings thing. You look so chic. ove the satchel. I work as a barista on campus before my 10 am classes, so its early mornings for me most days. I usually plan what to wear the night before.

Simple and chic! I brew coffee at home too. I like the feeling of drinking homemade coffee in the kitchen.

with you on this one. i hate sweatpants/flip-flops combos at uni. i do not have 8 am classes but sometimes even 10 am can seem all too early - like today! i'll have to try the over-size sweater look

Very cute. I have a cell biology class at 8am every tues and thurs and I usually just set my clothes out ahead of time. I do brush my teeth in the shower too if I'm showering in the morning but usually I just shower at night. Also, I love your bag. I have a smaller version of it in camel. It's delicious.

I actually brush and wash my hair in the shower while I still have my conditioner on, saves me plenty of time. Thanks for the tips, my school starts 20 minutes later than yours but I have to catch the bus at 7:15 AM

Let’s face it, no one’s ever going to be thrilled about being in a classroom or lecture hall at 8am. It’s easy to just throw on sweatpants, a t-shirt, and flip flops but that doesn’t mean everyone is into that, right? What I’m trying to say is that while there’s nothing wrong with people choosing to dress that way, if it’s not your cup of tea, there is a way to pull off the lazy look while still looking chic!

Personally, I like getting as much sleep as I can so I try to minimize the time I use to get ready. I have an 8am class every Tuesday and Thursday morning so I’ll try to walk you guys through today’s routine!

First I wake up as late as I can and step into the shower. I usually don’t wash my hair every day so I try to time it so I don’t have to on these mornings. You could do the dry shampoo or just put it up in a lazy bun like I do. Since my bangs usually get really oily by the end of the day, I shampoo them to avoid that. I don’t know how many of you do this (I know Lulu does) but brushing your teeth in the shower also minimizes time!!

As for clothes, instead of sweatpants try leggings! They’re just as comfortable and don’t look as sloppy. Next, loose tops and oversized sweaters are great paired with leggings and are just as comfortable. I also threw on a scarf for warmth since it’s always so chilly in the morning and booties. In addition to all of that, I donned sunglasses which are great for hiding behind while you walk on campus.

Above my neck, I usually opt for light make up, some eyeliner, and a bit of mascara. I like using MAC’s Studio Fix for this because it doubles as foundation and powder. Underneath it I usually put on a tinted moisturizer which is just as easy to apply. If you have dark circles under your eyes, try covering them with concealer. Finally, after putting my hair in a lazy high bun, I straighten my bangs.

This seems complicated and long but it only really takes 25 minutes or less including breakfast! Try not to skip eating in the morning… you’ll feel way better! Coffee also helps keep me awake so I brew some at home before heading out but you can also stop by a cafe or something. I think that’s what my picture is missing… a Starbucks cup a la MK&A!

p.s. all of this really happened today!!
