So.. I know it’s supposed to be a “city” but I’m just all over the Bay when it comes down to shopping. Newark is where I currently live, a pretty small town with a run-down mall so I like to explore a bit. (; BTW: that “dress” is actually a big men’s button up. I decided to make it a dress, since it fit me like one. So here’s a list of my favorite stores in my area:
1. X Generation in SF: Very different pieces of clothing. Love their dresses. They have alot of those lace/ woven backsides for dresses and tanktops, must haves. I have a couple of belts from there. Plus their stuff is pretty affordable. Ohh, and their accesories are beautiful. Downside is that it counts as much as the clothes.. or the ones I liked did. Haha.
2. Thrift Town in Newark: Very affordable, they always have neat clothing. I feel like every piece of clothing has a story behind it. They have a new selection like.. every Tuesday. They’ve also got some pretty cool items like really old cameras or nic nacs (if you like that kind of stuff).
3. Pink Stripes in San Jose: Super neat, beautiful fun dresses. There are mostly cocktail dresses that would probably empty your wallet, if you’re a student like me, of course. What’s neat about this place is that they also sell desserts, like macaroons and french pasteries. Ohhhh, they also have Mochi (if anyone knows what those are, if not then they’re these balls of ice cream covered in what seems to be a sweet dough? Haha)! Ohh nomnomnom. While you’re already in this area (Santana Row) they have a variety of places to eat. My favorite dessert places that reside in this area include, Pink Berry (best frozen yogurt everrrr) and Karra’s Cupcakes ( super moist cupcakes with soft delcious cream on top). Mouth drooling. (;
4. Mars Mercantile in Berkeley: They have the best vintage pieces, but a bit pricey for me. One of a kind pieces that you probably wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else. Their shoes are pretty neat, bright vintage heels or beautiful designs.
