I’ve been dyeing and screen printing a series of these scarves for my aunt. Whose birthday is coming up this Sunday. There are a few variations in color: mainly deep royal purples and this elephant grey colour.
As I mentioned in my previous post, I just recently opened up an etsy account and thought I might make a limited amount and sell them at my school’s upcoming spring fair as well.:

PROCESS:
Dyed using ‘Wash Fast Acid Dyes’
and then Silk-Screened using Acid Dye Paste on Chiffon (which has a smooth silky luster)
One of a kind -printed with my own repeat tessellation of sea horses in love, who are in a midst of kelp and chandeliers. There are also some luminous highlights of skeleton keys and flames subtly painted in a copper metallic pigment. Edges are also hemmed using a light cobalt blue (polyester thread) by me on the sewing machine.
Because of the sheerness of the materials and the bold print used with analogous shades of grey and black, the pattern does not overwhelm. It disappears and reappears in places that draping occurs more frequently. It is always in flux with the movement of ones’ body as you walk and move around. Simple refined elegance.
MEASUREMENTS:
15 inches wide
72 inches long
In addition: the last two pics in this update are D-I-Ys i’ve been working on.
