CalamityJem 's thoughts:

Ever since I spotted the Kova&T lace leggings on the bunnyhug website I wanted to see if I could create the look for less.
In all honesty, even though the Kova&T leggings are very gorgeous, they do look a bit like a thick pair of footless tights & at £85 I think they are outrageously overpriced for what they are.
I wanted to use a fabric that was stretchy but with structure & with a peek-a-boo element & I settled for this black stretch broderie anglaise for £1.50 per metre.
I took the pattern using an old pair of my fave H&M leggings, I used my ordinary sewing machine, went over all the seams twice & it took just over an hour from start to finished product.
They are very comfy, fit like a dream & cost me under £1.50 to make.
So what’s the verdict, have I succeeded in creating the look for less or should I keep trying?

In the photos I’m also wearing:
Vintage 80s embellished knitted cardigan coat (carboot sale)
Vintage 80s lace detail mini dress (charity shop)
Black suede kitten heels (carboot sale)
Vintage 80s quilted, chain strap bag (local shop)
Wig from PAK cosmetics

My husband calls this my Love Shack wig as he thinks I look a bit like Kate Pierson from the B52's when wearing it :)
