The weather usually isn’t an obstacle to the way I dress. Living in San Francisco means bundling up most of the time, due to the unpredictable cold, windy, warm, sunny weather. I love layers, but I hate carrying around an extra coat sometimes, especially now that I have a new addition to my must carry arounds, my new camera. So yesterday, I dressed lightly, even when it was raining, down pouring for a minute and sunny the next. I was already carrying an umbrella, my laptop bag, my camera bag and my Dooney & Bourke bag (gift from Megan, thanks!), I decided to just wear this blazer and a cardigan underneath to keep warm. How do I stay “chic in the city”? I just brave San Francisco’s bipolar weather and dress exactly the way I want and not let the weather affect the way I dress.
Also my favorite places to shop would be Urban Outfitters and Zara, in terms of new clothes. In terms of thrift stores, I love Goodwill. Goodwill is a glorious place to shop, because you can find some real hidden gems, if you spend enough time rummaging through the regular coal. I love Buffalo Exchange, because I trade my clothes there, so I get store credit in return and I have found the most beautiful faux fur pieces there. Second hand stores are great, because you find pieces with a history, the clothes have a nostalgic quality that makes me feel like a heroin from a period film.
