Oh the nautical trend. Every spring it comes back, in some form or another. Every spring I rediscover my love for everything red, white and blue, even though I know that the exact same thing happened the year before. I remember a lovely dress like this popping up at Forever21 a while ago, but it was back when I had no access to Forever 21. I was heartbroken because it seemed like the perfect nautical dress. Imagine my surprise when I saw this one on Chicstar today!!! It’s so cute, perfect for the spring. My style has always gone back to late 50’s early 60’s housewife, and this dress seems like it would be very much in the kitschy style of those days. I’ve also been checking out screen shots from Mad Men (no episodes yet), and I am totally feeling that pin-up, sexy-in-a-classy way style for daytime. This dress seems like the perfection marriage of the two! Seriously, sailor dresses equal good times. I feel like it has lovely layering potential too, with leggings, legwarmers, socks, boots and chunky knits meaning that I could probably wear it now…and not wait until spring. Perfection I tell you!
