Max Azria is one of those designers who has embraced the blogger phenomenon and has placed top bloggers front row at many of his shows. This season none other than Rumi from Fashion Toast sat front and center at the show and I spotted Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere sitting only a couple rows back. The show itself was not as exciting as the front row line up. The color palette was, what else muted and washed out and the entire collection was very minimalist. Most of the collection consisted of dresses, sheer inserts and paneling, but somehow didn’t feel as modern as I had hoped. The silhouette was modern, but the designs lacked vision. I was a little underwhelmed, with the exception of the shoes, nothing really stood out as new or inovative. The towering, leather wedges, however, made my heart race with delightful pleasure and I did fall in love with a few of the pale dresses with sheer inserts.
