So this is what I (and Calivintage) wore to the Chictopia Conference. I failed to get good photos that day; I was too busy rushing around like a crazy person. This dress has the coolest bow on the back right at the collar. HolierThanNow took these pictures of Erin and I, which give you the gist of the outfit. In advance when I was attempting to pack and plan my outfits I thought, “wear white!” all those fashion-y people wear black. ;)
About the Conference itself: it was such a blast. The panels were really informative and the panelists came from all walks of life. My favorite panel was probably hearing why different brands and pr agencies appreciate bloggers and personal style. We’re shifting into a new time where fashion will no longer be top-down. For the longest time people have worn what designers produce and everything trickles down. It makes sense because they make the clothes and we wear the clothes. Now though, with a market flooded with stores, trends, and products, there is more opportunity than ever before for individuals to stand out and go their own way. So us, bottom-dwellers can start dictating a few things to the higher-ups…or at least dressing for ourselves. ;)
I also really enjoyed the featured designers and I’m working on interviews with all of them to share with you all. The coolest part always is for me meeting the different bloggers and Chictopians in person. All the winners were so lovely and I was starstruck by at least one blogger I have been following for awhile.
