polysics or die.

wore this to a polysics show tonight! polysics were one of my favorite bands when i lived in japan.

i felt it appropriate to wear mickey and minnie mouse to the show, as it was in japan that i rekindled a childhood love for all things mickey and minnie mouse. in japan, mickey and minnie mouse are extremely popular and emblazoned on everything…i didn’t understand the popularity for a while, thought it all a bit trite. but my japanese friend aya explained to me that the appeal is manifested in a longing for the carefree joys of childhood. and, in approaching my early 20’s, this ideal really spoke to me. when i returned to the states, i was very glad to see that retailers like h&m had picked up on the trend…because i love this sweater.
