Hello everyone! =)
I know, you’re supposed to stay home in ur pyjamas when it’s miserable and the snow is too shy to stop falling. And here at our end, the wind is a killer. I always complain and say. The temperature is fine, i can bear it. But when the wind blows, it’s just terrible. But no, we didnt stay home, we went out to get warm. Vodka. =) Outside is the city covered with snow which made it look a bit better, i mean you cant see the satellite dishes, like thousands of them on the roofs and walls of both new and old buildings. We dont like them much, i mean, the way they sort of make the city look messy. Anyway, so while the Mr. is having his own James Bond cocktail with his bestfriend and co-rotarian, i occupied the next table and kept quiet, reading my book. Ah..i love reading. (As some of you know, i am a frustrated writer.) And apart from 3 and a half luggage bags of clothes, bags and shoes, i bought 23 books and 3 for the Mr. for valentines day (Dan Brown’s LOST SYMBOL, THE AUDACITY OF HOPE by Barack Obama and THE BIN LADENS by Steve Coll). I think it helps make the relationship work when you like the same things, well, i dont like olives and baked beans and espresso and massage and gas water and pomegranate and muesli and..yeah, ok, but there are more things, many things that we both like like books though i dont dare to read many in his collection like the A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME by Stephen Hawking and A SHORT HISTORY OF ALMOST EVERYTHING by Bill Bryson. I tried, but my brain hurts. So yes, right now i am reading a series by Jean Sasson, a story about Princess Sultana of Saudi Arabia, a very controversial and of course true story, honest and gripping, i cant put it down! And im on the 2nd book now called DAUGHTERS OF ARABIA, the story of Princess Maha, Princess Sultana’s eldest daughter. As i have mentioned for many times, there’s a big big part of my heart that belongs to the desert. It started with my love for Africa, then Oman then my current favourite, the UAE. I love their culture, i respect and understand their religion and i love the desert sun. So yes, mmm…i bought like 14 books about the arab world when i was in Dubai. I would spend hours in bookstores, trying to choose the good ones for i knew my husband will break my neck because of extra baggage fee. Though i had to get one of his books (Lost Symbol) in hardback. It’s weight was equivalent to 3 paperbacks! =(
Anyway, sorry, got carried away. Again. The outfit- From my Christmas wishlist, the diamante/bead chunky knit. I love it! I love sweaters! jeans by topshop (My jeans are either from Topshop or Mango, i like Mango’s because they make good skinny jeans and i like Topshop for their high waisted ones.) Shoes are months old but this is the first time i wore them. They’re comfy enough but a bit heavy, because of the studs. So i would only wear them if i know i wont walk or stand too much, ah, or dance!! And you know the rest.=) I hope you like it, you know that’s my only goal.=)
I am still working on my “Snow Project” and will hopefully be ready by monday. It’s just one of the few projects i have been cooking while i was in Dubai for my blog and other sites and of course, Chictopia. For you. And thank you for giving me reasons to stay home and be happy.=) Thank you, and you know i love you…=)
