Immediately after my morning class, I received a call from mummy dear. “Come quick,” she said. “There’s a homeware sale at Farmers and a lot of things are marked at half price!”

So away I scurried, and, three hours later, we dragged our loot home. Now every bedroom has a new valance and a new duvet set - kid brother’s in dark blue and silver, the parents’ in creme, and my own in shades of crisp white embroidered with delicate pink flowers. The enormous brass baroque-naval inspired clock I’d immediately fallen in love with in the store has found its place as the centre-piece of our living room decor, and our dining table has gained (yet another) set of floral placemats.

Wearing: a polka-dotted eyesore of a coat that I picked up in China when I was still in high school. 5 years later and I love it more than ever!
