I am not a firm believer of trends. I do follow some or maybe get inspired by them but I don’t try to make myself fit in the sea of city people all looking like the latest ad campaign of a fashion house— I make myself stand out. I make dressing up more of an extension of me. I dress to impress not only others but also myself. Trends are good and they are there to guide us but we also have to realize what is comfortable to us and what fits our bodies and personalities. I tend to dress in many ways – donning barbie doll outfits to the prima donna glam look or even just the normal “i’m going to work and head home after” jeans & flats combo. It’s the multiple personality disorder of dressing up, I say. What I wear is who I am regardless of what brand it is, what is in and out of season, and what the colour palette is. If i’m happy, I tend to lean towards bright colours and more action in my clothing. If I’m on the gloomier side, I dress monochromatically and more on the minimalist tone. I want to explore the whole lot of things out there and find what style fits me best.
