Hello everyone.=)
We found a very good, very good, no, amazing actually, amazing band from Sri Lanka. And we’ve seen them a few times now (like 5 times which is a lot if you know all the places where bands play) and ignored all the other (mostly) filipino bands in the whole UAE. We see them once and never go back, not that they werent good or anything, they simply didnt impress us. And im a musician, i’d know when you’re good at the first two lines of the song, the first cry of your guitar, the first minute. And when we sat there, i couldnt recognize them, i didnt know where they come from but even before they played, i told the husband that these guys are musicians who look like musicians. No, not the fake blonde hair color or chunky leather shoes(of the rhythm section) or the knickers and bra that the singers wear. These guys wore proper stage clothes. So we can’t wait to hear them play. 20 customers made us a bit nervous as the filipino bands are always, and i mean ALWAYS packed. But we said we’ll stay for one drink. They’re first song was “Africa” by TOTO. I was speechless, mouth open and shaking my head in amazement and admiration. The guys are annoyingly good! Anyway, went to see them tonight.
Chose to wear black to put the spotlight on my bag. It’s my first Chanel and i hope you forgive me if i talk about it, i mean, i brag about Mango and Topshop etc, but talking about luxe items, i get nervous, it just doesnt feel right sometimes as there are some of you who are “not into luxe items”. That sometimes i feel like buying them is a bad thing. Is it? Please tell me. I am not rich. I too can’t afford designers, but i have to admit that if i have the chance to have one, i’ll take it, in a flash, and it doesnt matter if i am broke for weeks. It doesnt matter if i dont shop for a whole month. I have my own little system and it works for ME.
Anyway, ok, maybe i’ll talk about the Chanel next time, lost the mood.=)
The sweater is by Topshop, simple simple sweater but the shoulder details made it special. I am into shoulder trend right now and though Cosmopolitan have this survey they did with guys that said they (the men) dont like the shoulder trend at all, it’s fine cuz the husband is ok with it though he did say some designs are just OTT and scary. So i’ve been going around and the first thing i look for is the shoulder detail, anything that looks “NOT” ordinary/plain. And i found some good ones and you’ll meet them soon. Shoes by F21, very comfy and yes, i heard you, it doesnt have to be expensive to be pretty.=)

And forgive me for the little rant, i dont mean to annoy anyone, like i said, i would brag about a second hand item just as much as i would with a designer. So again, sorry. We’re here because we’re proud of whatever we’re wearing…i am a very peaceful person, i talk a lot but i do know when to just shut up. But today, i just want to defend my Chanel as no matter how pretty it is, it can’t defend itself…
And if it’s any consolation, i will have to save hard for a very long time to buy a Louis Vuitton……

P.S. The book next to the Chanel is the book i am currently reading, called “Married to a Bedouin”. A story about a lady from Switzerland who married a Bedouin from Petra Jordan.
P.S. 2— We have the Wolf Moon tonight and the biggest and brightest full moon we’ll ever have this year. Bigger and brighter than the following full moons of 2010. It’s called the WOLF MOON because it’s so big that the hungry wolves used to (or maybe still do) howled on cold winter nights like tonight. Though the moon is moving away from us as you read this (Moon moves away from us by about 1.6 inches a year) it still bright and close enough tonight.=) So if you have clear skies, i hope you have time to go look, it’s expecting some little attention.=) And as a bonus, you can see Mars on the left keeping our moon company, look for the red star like pretty little thing next to it.=)
