Oh chictopia.
When I heard about this contest, I was really excited! It’s amazing how over such a short amount of time, this site has grown and been noticed in the fashion community. As a user who has been around since almost the beta stage (I got an invite really early on), it’s also been great to see the community grow and improve.
Now, on the important part: Why I love chictopia.
This is the one place which I feel is my e-home. Yes I may use other blogging sites and communities, but Chictopia has always been my favourite. This is largely because of the non-judgemental, non-elitist, loving (corny but true) feeling that I have always felt here. Yes, there is voting and contests, but everyone is on a pretty even playing field, and non-conventional, stylish real girls get to be recognized just as much as modelesque gals. As a curvaceous lady, it’s sometimes a little hard to come across as stylish when the focus is largely on being as thin as possible, but I always felt accepted here. Other sites seem to discredit users who are outside of the beauty norm, but Chictopia has always been a positive environment, which is a refreshing change. It’s sites like this one that are changing the face of the fashion industry.
Not only is Chictopia super welcoming and positive, it’s got an ENDLESS source of inspiration. There are soooo many stylish girls (and guys) on here who bring fresh, interesting style and photos, enough to make me want to amp up my style and get in on the game (again, corny but true!). I always come away from the site feeling infinitely inspired.
Basically, I love you Chictopia.
Vote for me if you would like, because I would DIE to go to New York and Fashion Week, not to mention meet all the lovely industry insiders who will be at the event.
